Aynada is an AI virtual try-on app made by HomeVisioner that lets shoppers in ikas stores see a piece of clothing on a photo of themselves. This policy covers Aynada’s try-on window on the store’s storefront, the merchant’s Aynada panel, and the Studio feature. HomeVisioner’s other services are covered by the HomeVisioner Privacy Policy.
1. Controller and Contact
2. Our Role and the Merchant’s Role
When a shopper uses Aynada through a merchant’s ikas store, it is the merchant that decides to offer the feature and determines the purposes for which the data is processed. In this context, the merchant is generally the data controller, and HomeVisioner is a data processor acting on the merchant’s instructions. This processing is also governed by the Data Processing Addendum.
HomeVisioner is independently responsible for data relating to its own business operations, such as merchant account administration, billing, service security, and legal compliance.
The merchant’s own privacy policy also applies. Shoppers should contact the relevant merchant first for requests relating to data processed through that merchant’s store; HomeVisioner will assist the merchant where required.
3. Personal Data We Process
Depending on how Aynada is used, we may process:
- The photo a shopper uploads of themselves for a try-on. It may show the shopper’s body and face;
- A fit or pose hint the shopper may optionally type;
- Product images and product information from the store;
- The try-on images generated with AI from the photo and the product image;
- If the shopper chooses to give it: their email address, their choice about marketing consent, the product tried on, and the time of the try-on;
- Order and cart information used to show whether an order followed a try-on: the ikas cart identifier, the order number, date, amount, currency, the products ordered and the order status, and the customer’s email address;
- Merchant account information: the ikas store, the app’s access credentials, settings, plan, and billing information;
- In Studio, the product and model images the merchant uploads and the lifestyle images created from them;
- Technical data, such as IP address, time of access, browser type, and security and error logs.
We do not use uploaded photos or generated images to identify individuals, perform facial recognition, or create biometric identifiers.
4. Purposes and Legal Bases
We process personal data only where necessary for the following purposes:
- Creating the virtual try-on image the shopper asks for;
- Showing the merchant which products were tried on and which orders followed a try-on;
- Passing to the merchant an email address the shopper chose to give of their own accord;
- Operating, securing, and improving Aynada; preventing abuse and technical failures;
- Administering merchant accounts, subscriptions, and payments; responding to support requests;
- Complying with legal obligations and handling legal claims where necessary.
For merchant account, subscription, and payment data, processing may be necessary for the performance of a contract under Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; for service security and fraud prevention, we may rely on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. For individuals in Türkiye, the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 also applies.
For shopper photos and try-on images, the relevant merchant is responsible for determining the applicable legal basis and informing the shopper. Where consent is required, processing takes place only after consent has been obtained.
5. The Photo Check Runs on Your Device
When a photo is chosen, Aynada checks whether it shows a person, inside the shopper’s own browser, using an object-detection model that runs on the device. The photo is not sent to any server for this check. The check only gives guidance: if no person is detected, the shopper is told so and can still continue. A face does not need to be visible.
The shopper’s browser downloads the program and model files needed for this check from the servers of jsDelivr and Google. Like any web request, this lets those providers see the shopper’s IP address; they do not see the photo.
The check is not used to identify individuals, perform facial recognition, or create biometric templates.
6. AI Processing
When the shopper continues with “Aynada Gör”, their photo and the relevant product image are sent to HomeVisioner’s servers and to Google Cloud’s AI services only to create the requested try-on image.
HomeVisioner does not use uploaded photos or generated images to train or improve AI models, and does not allow its service providers to use them for that purpose.
A try-on image is a preview; it is not a guarantee of a product’s fit or size.
7. What the Merchant Can See
The merchant’s authorised users can see in the Aynada panel:
- How many times each product was tried on;
- The email address the shopper chose to give, their marketing consent choice, the product tried on, and the time;
- Orders that followed a try-on, and aggregate analytics figures.
The merchant can see neither the photo a shopper uploaded nor the try-on image generated from it; these images are not stored (section 13). The merchant can export the customer list as a CSV file and is responsible for the exported data.
8. Downloading and Sharing
A shopper can download their try-on image to their device or share it using their device’s share function. Sharing is always started by the shopper; Aynada never publishes an image on its own.
9. Email and Marketing Consent
After the day’s first free try-ons, a shopper may be asked for an email address to continue. Consent to marketing emails is asked separately, with a checkbox that is not preselected, and may be withdrawn at any time. Marketing emails are sent by the merchant, not by HomeVisioner, and the merchant is responsible for them.
10. Information Stored in the Browser
The try-on window stores the following in the shopper’s browser (local storage): a random visitor identifier, the number of try-ons that day, the email address the shopper gave and for which product, the identifiers of try-ons whose result has not yet been collected, and the cart identifiers matched to a try-on. The cart identifier that ikas itself writes is read in order to match an order to a try-on.
The images of the shopper’s recent try-ons in that tab are kept only in the browser’s session storage; they are not sent anywhere and are deleted when the tab is closed.
These values are not used for advertising tracking and can be removed by clearing the browser’s data. The store’s own cookies and consent tools are governed by the merchant’s own notices.
11. Service Providers
We use the following service providers to operate Aynada:
- ikas, to provide the app within the merchant’s ikas store;
- Google Cloud (including Google AI services), for AI processing and cloud infrastructure;
- Supabase, for database and image-storage infrastructure in the EU;
- Resend, for service emails sent to merchants;
- Crisp, for support communication with merchants;
- Stripe, for subscription payments;
- jsDelivr and Google, to deliver the files of the in-browser photo check (section 5).
These providers process personal data only as necessary to provide their services and subject to contractual safeguards. We do not sell personal data and do not share it with third parties for their advertising purposes.
12. International Data Transfers
The primary application and image-storage infrastructure is operated in European Union regions. Where personal data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we ensure that an appropriate transfer safeguard, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, is in place. Transfers from Türkiye abroad are made in accordance with the transfer provisions of Law No. 6698.
13. Retention Periods
The photo a shopper uploads and the copy of the product image are deleted as soon as the try-on image has been generated, whether or not the generation succeeded. The try-on image is delivered to the shopper’s browser once and deleted as it is delivered. Results that cannot be collected because the tab was closed are deleted automatically within one hour at the latest. If a deletion fails for a technical reason, the automatic clean-up tries again.
Shots created in Studio are kept for 30 days and then deleted. Model photos the merchant uploads to Studio are kept for as long as the merchant uses Aynada.
Email records and try-on records are kept on the merchant’s behalf for as long as the merchant uses Aynada. Merchant account, billing, and transaction information is kept for as long as necessary to provide the service and to meet tax and accounting obligations.
14. App Removal and Deletion
When a merchant removes Aynada from their ikas store, ikas notifies HomeVisioner; HomeVisioner then deletes that store’s access credentials, stops receiving data from the store, and deletes every image the merchant created, including Studio shots and saved model photos. A merchant may request earlier deletion of other records by writing to [email protected].
15. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal data and learn the purposes for which it is processed;
- Request correction or deletion of your data;
- Request restriction of processing or receive your data in a portable format;
- Object to certain processing and withdraw your consent at any time;
- Lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority (in Türkiye, the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority, Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu).
If you used Aynada through a store, contact that merchant first. You may also contact us at [email protected]; Aynada does not require an account, so for us to find the record concerning your request, you need to tell us the store you used and, if you gave one, your email address.
16. Photos of Other People and Children
Aynada is meant for adults using a photo of themselves. You must not upload a photo of another person without that person’s permission, or a photo of a child. A merchant that uploads its own model photos in Studio is responsible for obtaining the permission of the person in the photo.
17. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, and misuse. Images are kept in private storage; Studio shots are shown in the panel only through short-lived signed links.
18. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical, or operational developments. The updated version will be published with a new “Last updated” date.
