Visualize furniture in a room: find the right fit before buying

A product photo rarely shows how a sofa, table, or chair will look at home. A realistic preview makes the decision easier.

Realistic preview

HomeVisioner combines your room photo and product image into a natural-looking result.

An example: from an empty room to a furnished living room

On the left the photo of an empty living room, on the right the same room with a sofa, coffee table and rug. Windows, floor and light are kept; the furniture follows the perspective of the photo.

What to look for in the preview

A preview answers different questions than a product photo. Look for these points:

  • Proportion: how big does the piece look next to the windows, doors and the furniture that stays?
  • Colour: how do the fabric or the wood look next to your floor and walls, in your light?
  • Presence: does the piece dominate the room or get lost in it? Is there enough free space left?
  • Style: does it go with what is already there – or do you want to change the room on purpose?

Measure before you order anyway

The preview is an AI image, not a measurement: scale and proportions are an approximation. Whether a sofa fits the alcove or a table leaves room to pull out the chairs is settled by the product's dimensions and a tape measure. Think of door widths and stairs for the delivery too.

The right room photo

Photograph the area the furniture is meant for, with some floor in front of it. The HomeVisioner widget shows these two examples on its upload screen too.

Good room photo: wide living room, shot in landscape, bright, floor and walls clearly visible

What works

  • Wide angle, room clearly visible
  • Hold the phone in landscape
  • Well lit, ideally daylight
  • The floor, or the surface the product goes on, is in the shot
  • As uncluttered as possible
Photo to avoid: close-up of a sofa with little floor or room visible

Better avoid

  • Close-ups and product shots
  • Crops that leave out the floor
  • Dark or blurred photos
  • People in the shot: photos with a recognisable face are not processed

Frequently asked questions

Which furniture can I visualize?

For example sofas, tables, chairs, shelving, and beds.

Can I compare several products?

Yes. Create a separate preview for each product.

How accurate is the size in the preview?

It is an approximation, not a survey. Whether a piece fits is decided by the product's dimensions.
